We interviewed our returning student:
We caught up with Csaba Tősér, who completed our Microsoft SQL Server T-SQL - Basic course this year – and has further plans to continue.
Tell us a little about yourself!
My name is Csaba Tősér, I live in Jászárokszállás. I graduated as a mechanical engineer in 2006, and since then I have been working in this field as a design engineer - currently at a company with 250 employees. We design air handling machines based on a given specification and sketch, which are then manufactured and assembled by the production plant. It is a very varied job, as no two tasks are the same. I also deal with IT systems and programs all the time. I am driven by a thirst for knowledge to know, understand, use or even improve them. I am committed to producing good work and I hope that this will be appreciated in the IT world.
Csaba Tősér – design engineer
You've come to our training courses with the aim of learning new IT skills to enhance your career prospects. What aspects did you consider when looking for courses? Why did you choose Masterfield?
For me, it was important that the course was offered on weekends and online, that it was a few months long and that the course was affordable. My qualifications and courses allow me to get my feet wet in engineering, management, WS testing and database management. I filled in the software testing level assessment test, then called your marketing colleague who evaluated it... from there I knew I was going to go with Masterfield.
Our junior software testing vocational training is a more comprehensive, in-depth, academic programme. Did the course go as you expected?
I expected the training to give me a professional knowledge that would enable me to compete in the IT field. Well, Masterfield gave me the best of it. In addition to the theoretical aspects, the trainers put a lot of emphasis on the practical parts. They helped me to understand the course material faster and better. As they say, practice makes perfect.
At Masterfield, we are proud that our trainers are practising IT professionals. At the Academy you had the opportunity to meet quite a few instructors – what was your experience like, how up to date was the knowledge they provided? And on our Microsoft SQL Server T-SQL Basics course that you took after the Academy?
The Masterfield trainers are fully up to date, have a broad perspective and are extremely helpful. I would especially like to highlight the real-life case studies mentioned by the trainers, which were interesting and informative for me.
What challenges did you face during the training? Did you manage to overcome them?
The installation of Oracle Database on my own machine failed, most probably because of the laptop I was using. However, I didn't feel the lack of this, as we had the opportunity to practice database management online as well and I also used an Android app to practice SQL commands.
You attended the training online. How effective was the communication with the trainer and your team members?
The communication during the course was perfectly efficient and smooth. I could almost not notice that I was not sitting in the classroom.
How do you feel you achieved your goal with the training?
I have been fully provided with the basics that I can use in the IT world. And Masterfield supports me at the highest level.
Is there a Masterfield colleague who has particularly contributed to making the training a positive experience for you?
All the Masterfield staff are nice, smiling and helpful. I had nothing but a positive experience at the final exam as well. The informal atmosphere, sandwiches, refreshments, coffee, the post-exam gift bag and the group photo session all contributed to this.
You mentioned that you are also interested in MS SQL, programming and cyber security. Does this mean that you are groping to find the main direction of your career change at the moment?
Yes, I'm still groping, hunting for a flow. Part of it is that I see on job search portals that employers are looking for employees with at least 1 year of work experience, which I don't have yet.
Are you planning to do further Masterfields training?
Definitely yes. My future plans include the Programming Basics course... then maybe Python or Java, expanding my MS SQL knowledge, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence. If IT training, then Masterfield is the only option.
